Our Culture
At KIPP Tulsa University Prep High School, we stick together like GLUE. Our school values of Growth, Leadership, Unity, and Excellence define everything we do.
We believe in being a better version of ourselves each and every day, both inside and outside of the classroom. The KTUP school experience is infused with joy and energy—from a warm welcome at the front door, to enthusiastic conversations around the lunch tables, to assemblies where we celebrate and cheer each other on. Our small class sizes and close-knit community allow scholars, teachers, and families to build authentic connections and bring out the best in each other.
Academics
At KTUP, we believe that preparing scholars for college prepares them for anything.
That’s why we offer an AP for All curriculum and use the ACT to guide academic rigor across every lesson. In our classrooms, scholars do the talking—engaging deeply in discussion and critical thinking—while teachers continually grow through daily and ongoing professional development.
When it’s time to plan for life after high school, our KIPP Forward team provides hands-on support through college and career seminars, campus visits, internships, and more. And our commitment doesn’t end at graduation—we continue to support alumni on their journeys to college, career, and beyond.
Scholar Activities
We are the KIPP Tulsa Bulldogs! Our beloved marching band is going strong after more than 10 years, and we are proud to compete in sports including basketball, football, cheer, soccer, track & field, and wrestling, as well as off the sports field in robotics and speech & debate. Our scholar- and teacher-led clubs give scholars a chance to experience everything from sewing to aquaponics and gardening. Our scholar government—run by scholars, for scholars—puts on activities throughout the year, including pep rallies, talent shows, and holiday celebrations.
