Together with families and communities, we create joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students with the confidence and skills to pursue the paths they choose — college, career and beyond — so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world.
What began in North Tulsa in 2005 with a single class of fifth graders is now a flourishing and continuous college-prep school system for students in grades 5 through 12. One of these first 5th graders, a Langston alumnus, is now a teacher at KIPP Tulsa College Prep.
KIPP is deeply rooted in Tulsa, and many teachers and leaders are native Tulsans. KIPP Tulsa is also part of the nationally-recognized KIPP network of schools with 270 schools educating 150,000 students in 21 states. All KIPP public schools are tuition-free public schools with no admissions requirements.
KIPP’s school community is built on a culture of respect and appreciation. We believe in the power of education to enable our students to achieve a future without limits, apply their unique talents, and change the world.
Historically 88% of KIPP alumni have attended competitive college preparatory high schools, and 75% of these scholars have gone on to college. Many have attended college on band scholarships after discovering music and practicing their craft in our award-winning Showtime Marching Band.
