Our Culture
At KIPP Tulsa College Prep Middle School, our classrooms provide structure while radiating joy.
Together with our scholars and families, we lead by example and strive to continuously grow and learn. We encourage our scholars to act as models to their peers, guided by the character strengths of Curiosity, Grit, Self-Control, Gratitude, Zest, and Optimism.
KTCP is deeply rooted in North Tulsa. Many of our teachers and leaders grew up and live right here in the community. We are proud to partner with community organizations such as 100 Black Men Tulsa and The Zone.
Academics
We use the science of reading and frequent diagnostic assessments to identify and close gaps in foundational skills, while also teaching rigorous, grade-level content.
We help our scholars develop the skills and habits to speak with confidence and reach their highest aspirations. Our curriculum is designed to challenge and excite scholars, is backed by research, and is aligned with national standards to ensure all scholars learn at high levels.
Our rigorous classroom instruction is paired with enrichment opportunities, after-school tutoring, and stretch opportunities that push scholars to reach their highest potential. Our teachers and leaders take time to understand what each scholar needs and build close-knit relationships with every scholar who walks through our doors. Our model is strengthened by partnerships with local organizations, including The Zone.

Scholar Activities
The KIPP Tulsa Bulldogs are in the house! We offer a variety of extracurricular activities, including team sports such as football, track, basketball, and cheer. Our football team, co-hosted with Central High School, won the 2021-22 state football championship! Beyond sports, we offer music and language classes as well as after-school activities through the Zone, including chess, debate, robotics, and cooking clubs. Our marching band is open to all grades from 6th through 12th, and you don’t even have to be a KTCP scholar to participate!
