Are You Smarter Than a KIPPster?
Thursday, April 23, 2026 | 5:30-8pm | Arvest Convention Center
Our favorite event is coming soon! The evening begins with a casual reception of heavy hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and a LIVE student performance, followed by our ever popular game show. The game show is modeled after the TV show, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? With elements of other TV game shows such as Who Wants to be a Millionaire? In our game, community leaders face off against a group of KIPP Tulsa students in the ultimate challenge.
Designed as a quiz bowl-style game, questions are taken directly from 6-8th grade lessons and textbooks, and the competition is certainly fierce. Everyone joins in on the fun, but only one team can WIN!
Special Guest: Shavar Jeffries
We are proud to welcome Shavar Jeffries, CEO of the KIPP Foundation, as our special guest. A nationally recognized leader in educational equity, Shavar has spent more than two decades expanding opportunity for students across the KIPP network, including the scholars and families right here in Tulsa.
Since becoming CEO in 2023, Shavar has led efforts to strengthen early literacy, improve math instruction, and expand college and career pathways across KIPP’s 279 schools. A founding board chair of KIPP Newark and a proud KIPP parent, Shavar’s commitment is personal, rooted in his own experience as a first-generation college graduate.
